Abstract

The article examines the role of the Legal Clinic of Tashkent State University of Law as an effective mechanism for ensuring access to justice for socially vulnerable groups and as a platform for practice-oriented training of future lawyers. The relevance of the topic is обусловлена the need to overcome financial, territorial, and informational barriers faced by citizens in protecting their rights, as well as the necessity of fostering professional competencies and social responsibility among law students.

Based on an analysis of the clinic’s long-term experience (2000–2024), the author explores its key areas of activity: legal counselling, legal awareness-raising, and digital innovation. Particular attention is paid to the diversification of communication channels with the public (Telegram bot, call center, Zoom consultations, and outreach receptions), which has significantly increased access to legal assistance for residents of remote regions and persons with limited mobility. Statistical data indicate that more than 3,200 applications were processed, approximately 50% of which were submitted online. The thematic analysis of inquiries demonstrates the predominance of issues related to family, labour, and housing law, as well as cyber fraud.

The article also highlights the clinic’s educational potential, including a multi-level quality control system for consultations, role distribution within student teams, and the development of an alumni community. It is concluded that the Legal Clinic model of TSUL successfully integrates its social mission with educational objectives, serves as a foundation for the development of the clinical legal education movement in Uzbekistan, and aligns with international best practices.
