This article examines modern biometric identification technologies and their application in criminology. Biometric methods, including fingerprint analysis, facial recognition, iris, voice, DNA, and other physical and behavioral characteristics, are becoming essential tools in solving crimes and identifying individuals. Special attention is paid to the structure of biometric systems consisting of sensor, analytical and matching modules, as well as identification and verification issues. The practice of using automated systems such as AFIS and facial recognition systems is analyzed, with examples of their successful implementation in countries with advanced criminology. Advances in 3D scanning, artificial intelligence, and DNA analysis are being considered, which significantly improve the accuracy and efficiency of investigations.
